There are a few VNC viewers for Mac OS X, although the two most commonly used are Chicken of the VNC and Vine Viewer. There is also a wide variety of VNC clients available for a wide array of computing platforms, including mobile solutions for PocketPC, Palm, and BlackBerry devices. Although VNC is pretty standardized for basic observation and control, some VNC clients offer additional features when paired with a VNC server from the same developer.

- Open up Sharing Preferences on your Mac and then click the Screen sharing section. Make sure Screen sharing is enabled and then click the Computer settings button. Check the VNC Viewers may control screen with password check box and enter a VNC password. You'll be prompted for this password by Jump when you connect.

How to use the hidden #VNC client in #Mac #OSX. OS X has a built in VNC (Screen Sharing) server, but it is a little known feature that it also has a built in VNC client. No additional software is necessary. To setup the server go to Preferences-Sharing and check the “On” checkbox next to “Screen Sharing”.
Chicken of the VNC
Chicken of the VNC is probably the most popular Mac OS X VNC viewer. It is an open source VNC viewer and offers a clean and relatively easy to use interface. Chicken of the VNC includes support for Bon Jour, which makes locating computers on a local network segment much easier. Although it doesn’t offer any additional features, Chicken of the VNC is a solid, if basic VNC viewer.
Vine Viewer
Vine Viewer, which is produced by Redstone Software, has a $29.95 price tag, but when used in conjunction with Vine Server, it offers some advanced features, including the ability to transfer clipboard contents between two Macs. It also offers features for taking screenshots and recording actions on the remote computer to a video file. This can be helpful if you are using VNC as an observation solution, such as in a classroom setting or to investigate suspicious activities on a particular computer.
