I am already excited for GTA V. Just received my copy few days ago. As of currently I am in India so after installation it asked me to download DLC worth of 5+ GB so i couldn’t play. So i had to sit in Cafe Coffee Day and download 5 freakin gigabyte using Vodafone 3G, which is by the way best telecom provider in India. Tried everything but Vodafone hits 5MBPS constantly. After the download completed i received another request for 352MB of Patch which i downloaded thrice over and over again and received the same freaking error. /ignite-vst-free-download-full-version.html. Then I started looking for fixes and found some weird ones :p. Well the main problem is that we installed GTA V in a different location than the default one which caused the problem. But no worries fix is here. And it will take a minute.
FIX
- Click Start and type regedit.exe
- Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto V]
- Make sure your “InstallFolder” has the correct pointer to your GTA V folder.
- add strings, just right click on a blank space and use new->string value, then modify that string value to 1033 or 1.0.323.1
And install the Patch now. It will work. I promise 🙂
If you are tired of downloading again and again. Their is a temporary patch file which is saved after download (if you haven’t restarted the download you will find the file in the temp folder)
Click start and type %temp% the folder will open and find patch file.

Make sure the new Windows user you create is named only including letters A to Z, a to z or numbers 0-9 from the basic roman alphabet. When you log into this new user you should be able to play the game without the error appearing. You can’t just rename your existing account, unfortunately, because this will not fix the issue. You have to create a new one.

Unable to detect Windows Media Player on your system GTA 5 error
This error shows up during GTA 5 PC installation. Your Windows does not have Windows Media Player installed. This should be an easy fix. Rockstar says to follow these steps:- Open the Control Panel
- Click “Programs”
- Click “Turn Windows Features On or Off”
- In the resulting popup, make sure “Windows Media Player” is checked under the “Media Features” folder
- Click “OK” and wait for Windows Media Player to install
GTA 5 for PC not launching with Steam on laptops
Some users have been reporting that they can’t launch GTA V on their laptops with nVidia graphics cards. When they start the game absolutely nothing happens (social club doesn’t open and clicking play accomplishes nothing). If you have a mobile nVidia GPU you should first update nVidia drivers to the latest version because nVidia released today a compatibility driver for this game. - “Social Club failed to initialize.”
- “Social Club failed to load due to an incomplete installation. Please exit the game and re-install the latest version of the Social Club.”
- “A newer version of Social Club is required. The updater may have failed. Please exit the game and install the latest version of the Social Club.”
If you are still having problems you can try some of these fixes:
- Verify the Steam Cache (Steam version only):
- Load Steam.
- From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
- Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache… button.
- Steam will verify the game’s files – this process may take several minutes.
- Run GTAV as an Administrator
- Go to the install directory for GTAV PC
- Right click “PlayGTAV.exe”
- Click “Run as Administrator”
- Verify that you have the latest version of DirectX and Visual C++. The latest versions can be downloaded from here.
- If you are stuck loading, auto-signin may have failed. Press the Home key and see if you can log in manually.
- Temporarily disable antivirus/security, then uninstall if disabling does not work as a test. Be sure to reinstall and re-enable your antivirus after the test.
- Make sure that Social Club is installed to the correct directory (by default, this is: Program FilesRockstar GamesSocial Club)
